The Inspiration
The ocean has always been a part of who I am having lived on both the east and west coasts and Hawaii. I began sailing when young followed by diving when I was ten then surfing as a teen. You might say I've got salt water in my blood!

I am a member of the Art Glass Association of Southern California and my "parrotfish" vase was featured on the advertising media in 2019.

Just keep swimming...

I first started working with clay in 2001, taking ceramics classes while in elementary school. I immediately fell in love with three dimensional art and worked through high school and college to improve and perfect my craft. I began attending Loyola Marymount University in 2010 where I continued working with ceramics even though my chosen major was Marine Biology! In 2013, I transferred to the University of Hawaii at Manoa with the intention of earning a Bachelors of Art with a focus in Ceramics. UH is renowned for its glass program, so I took an introductory class to expand my skills and bring them back to my work with ceramics. After taking my first glass class, I immediately switched the medium focus of my degree to glass. While I continue to throw and sculpt ceramics occasionally, for the last 10 years, I have been devoted to developing my skills as a glass blower. In 2016 I began working for Kathleen Mitchell at her studio in Barrio Logan as an assistant glass blower. As my skills developed I began assisting Kathleen with workshops and assisting her in teaching classes. I continue to work teaching glass and creating glass art for sale.
